The name Messavóli is no coincidence: it draws inspiration from both âplaceâ and âpath.â Specifically, it originates from âMessaria,â the traditional village at the heart of Santorini where the residence is located, and âvóli,â an old local term used to describe the stone-paved paths that once connected homes and courtyards. Today, this historic mansion has been thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary residence. In its past life, it functioned as a traditional canavaâa wine-making space where Santoriniâs renowned wines were once produced. The original wine press is still preserved on-site (specifically within the Canava Residence), serving as a living testament to the islandâs rich viticultural legacy. The recent renovation was carried out with passion and care, honoring every traditional detail while introducing subtle modern touches.
